Casual clothing, it is important that drivers wear correct footwear on the day. LRS advise drivers to wear trainers of standard width or thin soled shoes. Work boots can often be too wide causing problems using the cars pedals. It is advisable to bring a rain jacket or warm clothing in the winter. All safety gear and overalls are supplied by LRS.
Q. Are there any height or weight restrictions?
No. The cars are fitted with adjustable drivers seats ensuring each driver can adopt the perfect driving position given their size or weight. The cars running on the day have varying sizes of seats, drivers will be able to try each seat then choose the most suitable to use for the days driving.
Q. What happens on the day?
After the morning workshops, drivers will be shown to the briefing room and will register themselves with LRS. Drivers are welcome to help themselves to refreshments. There is short briefing given by the instructor covering safety, cars, techniques etc. The drivers then move to the driving area with their instructor and the driving commences.
The instructor will be sat with the pupil at all times to give advice and tips and also for reasons of safety. Once driving has finished the participants will return to the briefing room for a debrief where the instructor will be on hand to give feedback on drivers performance for the day and answer any questions.
