Senior Network Engineer

Reporting to: Technical Director

Location: High Wycombe

Salary: 45,000-50,000

Role: This role would suit someone with clearly demonstrable long-term experience in the design, installation, configuration, and support of primarily Cisco based hardware, to CCNP level. It is expected that a suitable candidate will have a full understanding of layer 1-3 issues together with knowledge of routing protocols, in LAN and WAN environments. They would also be expected to have significant knowledge of security technologies including IPSEC and SSL VPNs including client remote access, primarily with the Cisco ASA.

Experience with configuration, interoperability, and support of other networking vendor equipment will be required.

A clear knowledgeable understanding of higher level IP protocol use across private and public networks, together with knowledge of server and cloud delivery platforms will be a significant advantage. Whilst we are not a Windows server provider, an understanding of networking including Active Directory in Windows environments is required.

It is expected that the ideal candidate will come from a network integrator or service provider background rather than an end-user organisation, and therefore be used to dealing with multiple concurrent projects through the entire lifecycle. A can-do and get-involved attitude is paramount.

The candidate will be expected to be primarily office based, and be mindful of the need for shift based working within a 08:00-20:00 window in the future. There will be a requirement to travel to customer offices and data centres both in the UK and occasionally overseas, which will require working outside of normal hours.

The candidate must have excellent written and spoken English, evidence of clear ability to document solutions and work, and be capable of coaching and mentoring other members of staff. There will be a requirement to provide occasional technical pre-sales support.

Network Engineer

Role: This role would suit someone with clearly demonstrable long-term experience in the design, installation, configuration, and support of voice, video, and collaboration products, and holds vendor certification. In particular a knowledge of SIP, video protocols, XMPP, and Cisco Spark is highly desirable. It is expected that a suitable candidate will have a full understanding of software issues together with knowledge of SIP and collaboration products, in LAN and WAN environments. They should have hands on experience configuring IP based voice solutions in multiple customer environment. They would also be expected to have knowledge of LAN and WAN networking technologies, and their impact on the design of collaboration solutions.
